Weaving Machinery complete the Three Peaks Challenge

NATIONAL THREE PEAKS CHALLENGE COMPLETE ✅

Weaving Machinery put together a team to conquer the dreaded Three Peaks Challenge in July 2022. We kicked off on Sunday morning and so in terms of safety: all precautions were taken, guidance was sought and we kept a keen eye on the forecast.

It was a real battle up there but our warrior team gritted their teeth and got it done with a lot of fun and many achy knees and dodgy hips along the way. 

Over £7500 was raised in aid of The Farming Community Network, @fcncharity, so thank you to all that donated.

At 8am on Sunday morning, we started at Ben Nevis 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿, it was a long climb and very cold and foggy on the summit, but so far so good. Everyone Summited, everyone back on the bus.

Onto the Lake District… we started the climb on Scafell Pike 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 at 7.30pm. A few sore muscles and niggling injuries began to show. It wasn’t until well after dark the final team members made it back to the bus with a few VW’ing along the way.

So finally onto Wales… we were behind time now, road closures were not helping the matter. On arrival at Pen-y-pass, there was a little over 3 hours to summit Snowdon 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 and get back to the base.

Sarie set off at a run, with the boys trailing in her wake, she summitted in 1 hr 16 minutes, returning to the bottom of the mountain just 55 minutes later. Followed a little while later by Tom and Harry. Three gallant finishers in less than 24 hours. They were bravely followed by another 7 finishers some with bandaged legs but strong spirits.
