Mammut Silage Blade

Mammut Silage Blade

Silage harvest has a very narrow harvesting window. Large quantities of finely chopped corn have to be distributed precisely in a short time and compacted optimally in order to ensure feed quality and to make the work process efficient. The Mammut silage blade plays a decisive role when chopping corn. Thanks to its sophisticated design and innovative functions, it ensures that the corn silage is distributed quickly and evenly in the mobile silo.
In addition to efficiency, the feed quality is a decisive factor in the silage making process. The more evenly the corn silage is distributed, the better it can be compacted. Using the silage dozer blade enables optimum fermentation that ensures that nutrients are retained and that the feed quality is high.

Standard Specification

Hydraulically folding side wings, Heavy duty HARDOX steel base, Robust scraper bars front & back, ballastable, 3-point linkage suitable from CAT II-IIII, Work lights, Hydraulic swivel on SP400.

Mammut Silage Blade Key Features

Even Distribution

The silage blade ensures that the silage is distributed evenly and precisely up to the silo wall. Thanks to the homogeneous distribution, the feed is layered optimally in the silo, which enables efficient compaction and improved feed quality. Pushing the feed corn evenly minimises air pockets and provides the optimum conditions for subsequent compaction. This increases the shelf life and quality of the corn silage significantly.

Flexible Wings

The hydraulically-foldable side wings on the silage blade provide maximum flexibility when distributing the feed. The scatter pattern can therefore be optimised to the on-site conditions. The side wings on the blade can be controlled individually and are particularly beneficial on uneven unloading heaps or in narrow mobile silos. The precise control enables the corn silage to be compacted evenly, even in areas that are difficult to access and provides ideal conditions for compaction. This increases flexibility and time savings in the narrow harvesting window significantly.

Hydraulic Swivelling

The hydraulic pivoting device on the SP 400 type silage dozer blade enables swivelling on both sides and therefore provides the highest flexibility when distributing the silage. The silage blade can swivel both to the left and to the right in order to distribute the silage precisely up to the silo wall. By pivoting the silage blade away from the silo edge, the distribution performance is also improved. The swivelling function therefore does not just ensure even distribution even in narrow or poorly accessible areas of the mobile silo but also has a very positive effect on the entire work process.

On The Road

When driving on the road, side lights provide the required protection. In addition, folding the side wings in ensures a safe journey on the road, as they can be folded up compactly if required. This minimises the transport width and increases the silage dozer blade’s stability, which improves safety and efficiency during the journey significantly.

Optimum Visibility

The integrated safety guard on the silage blade ensures an optimum view during the distribution process. In addition, the driver’s safety is improved, as the slight slant of the rear wall extension allows the feed corn to fall off to the front. The outstanding view ensures a better overview and provides more precision when distributing. The work lights provide an optimum view even when lighting is poor. Whether it’s at dusk or working long into the night – the clear view of the work area is a massive help.
