Swing Gates
Swing Gates
According to the NFU, rural crime continues to rise, with break-ins costing farmers an average of £5,100. The effects go beyond financial loss. Security breaches can leave farmers feeling unsettled and vulnerable, adding to existing pressures on mental health within the industry.
Gates are a mainstay on every farm, yet their importance in providing effective security is sometimes underestimated. A well-designed swing gate offers a solid first line of defence, helping protect farms and rural properties from the growing threat of crime.
Delivery and installation of the swing gates are included in the price. Customers may carry out their own groundworks prior to delivery, or choose the optional specification for groundworks to be completed at the time of installation.

Swing Gates Key Features
        Operation
Swing gates are ideal for residential areas where their aesthetics and hidden underground motors offer a less commercial look. These motors are IP67 protection rated, meaning they provide one of the highest levels of protection, including immersion in water up to one metre, giving you peace of mind. A maglock is installed to connect the two leafs of the swing gate when closed, preventing unwanted movement in strong winds and potential entry by force. Manual release is possible through the use of a key and release lever.
        Safety
The underground motors installed on our swing gates feature obstacle detection for added safety, along with a built-in centre stop that removes the need for a physical, unsightly alternative. These swing gates also include two pairs of safety photocells that use an infrared beam which, when broken by a vehicle or pedestrian, immediately stops the gates from opening or closing further. All swing gates are tested to UK Health & Safety regulations and Machinery Directive standards.
        Construction/Materials
Designed and built at our Evesham site, these swing gates are finished to an uncompromised standard. Painted as standard in satin black (RAL 9005), they provide rust resistance and ensure a long-lasting life. Alternative paint options are available upon request. The hardware installed on our swing gates is supplied by market leaders such as FAAC, giving you the assurance of the quality expected with our products.
        GSM Controller
Access to our swing gates can be provided in numerous ways. As standard, the gates are compatible with a mobile phone app that requires you to register the phone numbers of the people you would like to give access to. Any other numbers that call the swing gate will not gain entry without being registered. You can also set opening and closing timers, as well as keep the gate open or shut for any chosen period of time.
        Access Control
Keypads are installed to our swing gates as standard, providing a simple means of access. A raised-height post is also available to mount the keypad for taller vehicles such as lorries, allowing access without leaving the cab. A GSM intercom uses a SIM card to dial from the intercom to either a landline or mobile phone, enabling visitors to speak with the relevant person before gaining entry. Our swing gates include a preinstalled receiver for radio fobs, which are supplied as standard, with additional fobs available upon request.
        Solar Panel Operation
Typically, solar panel operation is implemented on swing gates where mains electricity is not practical or financially feasible. Depending on the size of the gate and the number of daily operations required, several solar panels can be fixed to a frame with a self-contained cabinet housing the deep cycle batteries. These batteries are capable of storing multiple days’ worth of operation, depending on the time of year and weather conditions.
        Accreditation
Our gate technicians at Weaving Machinery are accredited under the Door & Hardware Federation (DHF). The DHF works to raise quality and safety standards in the design, manufacture, installation, and maintenance of automated gates and barriers. This accreditation reassures customers that our swing gates are produced and installed to the highest standards, fully conforming with the latest legislation and safety requirements.
